ATTENTION

Please be advised that people selling Embassy/Consulate forms are not Embassy or Consulate staff or affiliated with the Embassy or Consulate in any way. In addition, because all necessary forms are available free online, consular posts will not provide them. Applicants should carefully prepare and print all documentation before arriving for their interview. The forms required to apply for a nonimmigrant visa including the DS-156, DS-157, and DS-158 can be accessed through the Embassy/Consulate websites. These forms can also be completed on this site by answering all of the questions asked during the process of getting information on how to apply for a visa and making an appointment for a visa interview.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: As Recife approaches the rainy season, visa applicants should be aware that the U.S. Consulate in Recife may be required to cancel all appointments on any given day due to inclement weather and flooding in front of the U.S. Consulate. The U. S. Consulate is aware of the discomfort and inconvenience this may cause. However, street flooding on RUA GONÇALVES MAIA can pose significant health and safety hazards. Should appointments be cancelled, all applicants will be informed by Consular and Security Personnel. Applicants will then be contacted by email or telephone to reschedule their appointment. Rescheduling of applicants’ appointments will be done by the Visa Information Service and NOT by the U.S. Consulate.
